My Journey

I have always valued children. I am a child and youth worker, Birth, Foster and Adoptive mother to five (Three of which have Special needs), now young adults.

Coming from a large family myself, I remember my father hanging my art work framed over his “Dad” chair for all to see. I felt valued, special and seen. I noticed over the years some of my children were not always included in school photos. They too wanted to feel valued, special and seen. This motivated me towards photography. My two daughters rode at Sari Therapeutic Riding Stables here in London, Ontario. While at the barn the director, knowing my passion for kids and photography, had asked me if I would take over the photography of riders and their horses. I was happy to do it knowing the bond that is shared between horse and riders. The excitement to feel that their love was being shared, valued and recorded.

I looked forward to capturing that special connection. It was very rewarding. After several years I decided I wanted more photography in my life. My children were growing up. I took a school portrait photographers position and I have enjoyed years of developing my photography skills and meeting new children to be photographed.
